Litter Drawings

2011

Graphite and Oil Based Pencil Crayon on Paper. 7” x 7”

A series of twelve small drawings which document trash I found in wooded areas. Alluding subtly to nature illustration and field notes, the drawings encourage the viewer to create their own interpretations on issues such as over consumption and pollution. Peripheral areas have been left provisionally bare to suggest the idea of memories. They document a hybrid aesthetic created by juxtaposing nature and the human traces left behind every day.
