Bark beetle paths were partially left untouched, but were also traced over and overwhelmingly extended in this sculptural drawing. The patterns were carved out and pay homage to the original found patterns as well as offering an exploration of alternative means of representational drawing. The viewer is invited to inspect the log to decipher the minor differences between the found marks and the made ones, The precariously angled installation of the work alludes to this tension in a dramatically physical way.
