Urban Mushroom Installations
2012-ongoing
Sculpey, wire, paint. Micro Installations approximately 2-4”
Hundreds of small sculptural mushrooms are installed in urban spaces around southwestern Ontario. These installations serve as private encounters to intervene in the everyday lives of urbanites. They are intended as facilitators of serendipitous discoveries and interruptions of urban environments. While acting as tiny interjections into the urban world, the mushrooms also remind one of the tenacity of natural forms and the eventual balancing that returns when the biotic and abiotic worlds become permanently entwined.
